The staff of College Complete (http://www.collegecomplete.com) will be going through a special week.  Friday morning, 11/18/2011, the corporate headquarters will be visited by a representative from the Community Blood Centers of South Florida.   An office will be set up for use by the representative as they gather the 40+ cheek swabs for registry in the National Marrow Donor Program.

In March of 2010, Daniel Haim, one of College Complete’s co-founders, found out that his mother was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder Myelodysplastic syndrome.   MDS is currently only curable with a bone marrow transplant and matches are particularly hard to find.  In many cases, as with Eve Haim, MDS transforms into Leukemia and can take the life of an otherwise healthy person.

Through the generosity of a complete stranger, Eve was able to find a perfect match for a transplant in November 2010 through the Nation Marrow Donor Program providing time with her family that may have otherwise not been available to her.

In honor of this unknown person and the countless others who register through a simple swab of the cheek, College Complete is hosting this registration drive.   A moment of painless donation from a stranger can mean a lifetime of additional memories for a family.

The CollegeComplete.com NASCAR truck has worn an orange ribbon for Leukemia awareness, On June 5th 2011 the ribbon was changed to include the dates 3/8/52-6/5/11 as we lost Eve Haim.  The new ribbon adorns the #6 Truck driven by Justin Lofton (http://www.loftonracing.com).

College Complete encourages everyone to reach out to the Nation Marrow Donor Program and request a registration kit for themselves.
